Meet the Lead

Dr. Olukemi Bamigboye-Taiwo leads our Nigeria program with deep dedication to pediatric care and community health advancement, helping expand access to earlier congenital heart disease screening for children and families.

Why This Work Matters

Congenital heart disease remains a leading cause of death in young children, especially in areas with limited access to specialized pediatric care. In Nigeria, delayed diagnosis often means missed opportunities for treatment and life-saving intervention.

One Heart Health helps address this gap by training frontline healthcare workers to identify CHD using cost-effective, accessible technology. With a digital stethoscope and the One Heart App, providers can analyze heart sounds in real time and consult remote cardiologists, creating a sustainable and scalable model for pediatric heart health.

Looking Ahead

One Heart Health is expanding its congenital heart disease screening program across Nigeria, aiming to reach thousands of children in underserved communities. This initiative builds on strong local partnerships and a growing network of trained healthcare professionals, using the One Heart App and digital stethoscopes to bring advanced heart screening where it is needed most.

With a goal to screen 10,000 children over the next year, the program empowers local doctors and nurses with AI-powered tools to detect heart abnormalities earlier, when intervention can be most effective.

2026 Objectives

  • Screen 10,000 children for CHD between 2025 and 2026
  • Identify an estimated 120+ children with CHD and connect them to life-saving care
  • Support training and screening expansion across rural clinics in Ekiti and Osun states
