Heart Screenings – China
Fund Heart Screenings in China
Funding Objective:
To date over 26,000 children and infants from 150 villages in Gansu and Yunnan provinces in China, have received heart screenings thanks to One Heart Health.
In 2020, One Heart Health was well on its way to reaching over 30,000 children, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to cease travel abroad.
One Heart Health has not forgotten its mission and the desperate need for pediatric heart screenings in rural China.
We plan to return to rural China, the original inspiration behind our telemedicine solution, to screen another 5,000 children in collaboration with partner hospitals: Kunming Medical University, First Affiliated Hospital of Lanzhou University and Gansu Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Additionally, One Heart Health plans to pursue new partnerships in China to promote newborn screenings. Please join us in funding heart screenings in China and maintaining these important programs in the Yunnan and Gansu provinces.

Motivation:
Congenital heart defects (CHD) affects one in 120 newborns; one in ten of these children live in low resource settings with limited access to CHD care. There is no effective way of avoiding late recognition of CHD in rural settings in developing countries. Training local health professions on the One Heart app and connecting them with expert cardiologists provides a method for early diagnosis of CHD and improved health outcomes.
About the One Heart App
The One Heart App is a telemedicine system developed by One Heart Health that allows heart specialists to provide remote consultation using digital heart sounds to detect CHD.
About One Heart Health
Established in 2017, the mission of One Heart Health is to improve health outcomes through early diagnosis of heart disease in children who live in low resource areas of the world using cost-effective medical technologies. One Heart Health is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization.
